Our Global Banking & Markets division serves mid- to large-sized corporations and institutional clients worldwide. It is comprised of Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking, Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets and Wholesale Credit. Aligned with these client-facing groups are Global Capital Markets and Global Research.
Global Corporate & Investment Banking focuses on building long-term relationships with more than 5,000 large U.S. and multinational corporations, financial institutions and financial sponsors. We provide strong advisory expertise, capitalizing on powerful mergers and acquisitions, corporate banking, treasury, debt and equity underwriting to deliver integrated financial solutions.
 
Position Overview:
Located in New York, NY and reporting to the Global Head of Global Banking & Markets Learning & Leadership Development (L&LD), Seeking an internal Learning & Leadership Development Consultant to Global Corporate Investment Bank clients who will collaborate with business and HR Leaders to develop business-specific leadership and organizational effectiveness solutions.  This role is a critical position with responsibility for ensuring achievement of key business outcomes through the utilization of impactful and proven leadership and organization development services.  Applicants must have experience working in large, complex, global organizations, ideally in global banking or markets businesses.
This candidate must be an influential and results oriented consultant who can develop and manage relationships across the company and with a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork and subject matter expertise.  The candidate will partner with business leaders to drive performance with key focus on Organization Design/Effectiveness, Leadership Development, Talent Management, Performance Management and Learning Strategy.
   
Key responsibilities include:
  • Partner with business and HR leaders to deliver talent plans and talent management strategies that ensure strong succession and a bench of talented future leaders.   Responsibility for title promotion processes as well as talent planning and integration with diversity strategy.  Support integration with other lines of business.
  • Work closely with learning specialists and designers to oversee all learning in the line of business, including but not limited to entry level training, lateral new hire onboarding, promotion milestone conferences, product and technical training, management and leadership training, etc.
  • Support executives in building/developing strong teams.
  • Provide and support executive coaching to key leaders in the line of business.
  • Lead implementation of key leadership and talent initiatives and processes, e.g. 360 feedback, performance management, career planning.
  • Build strong relationships to partner effectively with a variety of constituents (compensation, talent acquisition and other) in building integrated people processes.
  • Identify, develop and lead the implementation of multiple projects in a fast-paced, challenging environment with competing priorities.
  • Ensure optimal alignment between the business’ strategies, future state operating model and the organizational capabilities required to deliver on them.
Enterprise Job Owned Profile:
Consults, designs and delivers learning, leadership development, talent management and organizational design/effectiveness solutions. Identifies L&LD opportunities, strategies and solutions that are linked to organizational and business goals with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Establishes and maintains partnerships with Business Leaders, L&LD colleagues, GHR, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and vendors to identify and drive results. Manages stakeholder relationships. Individual contributor role.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree preferred in relevant areas (e.g., Organization Development, Organization Behavior, I/O Psychology, etc.).
  • 7+ years of Leadership Development experience; Org Design/Org Effectiveness or HR experience.
  • Applicants must have experience working in large, complex, global organization.
  • Must have experience supporting Financial Services with a strong preference of strong knowledge of Global Banking and Markets businesses.
  • Ability to navigate in highly complex, matrixed organization and operate effectively in an often ambiguous environment.
  • Relationship management skills including the ability to communicate, influence and coach at the senior leader level. 
  • Ability to translate strategy into specific goals, tactics and deliverables.
  • Must have strong project management skills, technology proficiency, systems thinking and quality orientation.
  • Performance consulting skills including the ability to identify performance gaps by asking the right questions.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, facilitation, client service orientation, leadership, influence, teamwork and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with learning strategy and solutions.
·        Some travel required (~10%).
