Overview
 
As a member of our Platform Team, the Business Intelligence Architect’s role will be to help architecture, implement, and maintain firm’s Business Intelligence offering for our Motion Product.   The candidate will have a key role in defining the technical architecture used to build our Data Warehouse of a client’s financial data, both internal and external.   The role requires the candidate to guide and train Application Engineers thru best practices to help build data warehouses used for client reporting.  The candidate will also be responsible for our Tableau Server Infrastructure used by our Business Analysis to generate these client reports.
 
Responsibilities
  • Architecting/maintaining our Business Intelligence offering by understanding client, business and technical requirements.
  • Recommend/maintain the technology stack used to implement our Business Intelligence solution.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with Business Analysis and senior managers to our technical direction.
  • Guide development staff on best practices by advocating standards and ensuring consistent technology is selected.
  • Serve as the Platform Team’s expert in Business Intelligence/Big Data by keeping the company moving forward as the technology evolves.
  • Be “hands-on” for implementations when asked by the Applications Team to help meet goals for weekly Sprints.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience with Business Intelligence/Big Data around solutions in the financial space.
  • Experience with indexing, searching, and analytics over large data sets of financial data.
  • In-depth technical understanding and experience with Relational Databases such as MySQL or Oracle as well as “NoSQL” technologies.
  • In-depth technical understanding of ETL/Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with Amazon Cloud/AWS offerings and widely distributed computing environments.
  • Experience with Tableau data cubes in Tableau Server Database is a big plus.
  • Understanding of the Agile Software Development Process.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Computer Science.
